In a parallel universe, I must have been a singer-songwriter.
A few months ago, I discovered Suno.AI and was immediately captivated. Today, anyone can release a song with just a few prompts. However, crafting those prompts is a skill.
As a Damien Rice and Lana del Rey fan, I incorporated alternative, melancholy, and indie pop elements into my prompts.
Adding specific directives on Suno.AI such as [sad electric guitar solo], [sudden chord shift], and [heart-wrenching cries] with other generative AI tools for the lyrics to produce remarkably poetic, lyrical, and emotionally charged songs—the result? Mindblowing.
When ChatGPT first launched, I was conscientious about closing those tabs while sharing my screen. Now, I feel there's no need to hide.
We should be open to using these tools or even proud to leverage them. Whether AI will replace humans should no longer be the elephant in the room.
The big gray elephant is: Do you know how to leverage AI in your daily work?
We need to know that AI isn't here to steal our thunder but to be our assistant.
As a self-proclaimed prompt geek, I can't help but wonder: Are we genuinely tapping into the potential of these AI assistants? Are we using the most cut-throat prompts to elicit the best possible responses? Or are we merely scratching the surface, giving textbook prompts, and complaining afterward, "Obviously, it's AI-generated!"
As a senior AE in a tech startup in Singapore, I had a lot of fun using AI in my work. No longer fumbling through my company's Learning Management System for tax laws of respective countries, I rattled off the answer right off the bat. (Cross-checking at the back of my head if the answer seems dubious.)
Using AI for sales pitches
Back in the day, when generative AI was still a novelty, I turned to generative AI tools for answers and assistance in crafting compelling sales pitches and engaging with prospects.
One of my go-to prompts was to generate relevant buzzwords. I would prompt:
This allowed me to pepper my conversations with industry-specific jargon, building instant rapport and demonstrating my understanding of the prospect's world.
Clarity is vital when giving prompts.
Using AI for personalization
Another prompt that proved invaluable was to personalize a conversation.
I would ask AI to:
This allowed me to tailor my approach to each prospect, mirroring (topic for another day) their communication style and focusing on issues likely to pique their interest. You can use AI to vet through webpages or LinkedIn profiles to produce these critical pointers.
Using AI for value propositions
However, perhaps the most practical prompt I used was to tailor a value proposition statement. I would prompt to:
By providing specific parameters and context, I generated a unique and impactful value proposition that addressed the prospect's pain points and highlighted the value of our offering.
Always have a clear ask, but also set your parameters right!
Refining and fine-tuning AI content
Of course, simply generating responses from AI is not enough; refining and optimizing these responses is crucial to ensure maximum impact.
Think of yourself as an engineer here. Here are a few prompts I use to fine-tune AI-generated content:
1. Quality Enhancement: Improve the previous response from a 6/10 to a 10/10, adding more detail and relevance to the conversation track.
2. Tone Adjustment: Reduce the sales pitch by 40%, increase rapport and curiosity by 30%, and enhance creativity and client-centricity by 20%.
3. Call Evaluation: Review this email/call transcript and score it on a scale 10 for its engagement, rapport, and relevance. Suggest improvements.
4. Prompt Optimization: Rewrite my prompt to produce a more effective outcome. The prompt should be as personalized and detailed as possible.
By using these prompts to refine and optimize AI-generated answers, I can create highly targeted and impactful assets that resonate with prospects beyond the surface.
Of course, I, too, provided lots of context and input to get a quality output. In today's fast-paced, tech-driven world, mastering the art of prompts is critical.
In fact, it's an art.
Of course, it's imperative to remember that AI should never replace your judgment and expertise. I always remind myself to review and refine AI-generated content to ensure it aligns with the brand's mission, purpose, and value.
Remember: It's you checking AI's work and not vice versa.
I hope you pick up a tip or two from this article. Alright, I'm diving into the "studio" to prompt a fresh anthem that fuses 'Summertime Sadness' moody vibes with the ethereal essence of 'Delicate'.
Let the sonic magic begin!
