Why attend SEC’s Sales Enablement Summit in Amsterdam?

From Amsterdam and Singapore, to New York and London, Sales Enablement Summits touch down across more than a dozen cities every year, bringing collaborative, insightful networking and learning opportunities to sales enablement professionals.

Felicita told us why our Amsterdam summit was the right match for her needs:

“The first time I attended was last year in 2023 and I went along as a plus one for Heidi Kalmár, my manager at the time and a speaker.

“I actually started working with her because she was someone with experience. Oftentimes sales enablement is this sort of self-taught trait, or you're the only one at your company doing it.

“When I started to work with her it was exactly to have an example and direction in my career, so in that context, she invited me to come along to the Sales Enablement Summit Amsterdam

“That was super exciting, and obviously a really cool opportunity to network, get to see what other people in enablement are doing, etc.

“This year, I joined as a speaker because I wanted to see how my findings would resonate and how I would fit within that context too.”

“Meeting like-minded people has huge value”, Heidi Kalmár

What stood out to Felicita about the experience?

Sales Enablement Summits provide opportunities to learn, grow, network, connect, and share experiences with your fellow enablement peers.

With roundtable discussions, keynote speakers, networking brunch and drinks, and more all aimed at facilitating a thriving atmosphere of interconnectivity and collaboration.

Felicita shared what she found most valuable about the experience:

“It’s definitely a combination of everything - I don't think one thing, in particular, is the main attraction, the events provide that exact mix of things that we’re often missing as sales enablers.

“Sales enablement isn’t something you study at college, so the Sales Enablement Summit is a unique opportunity to learn, exchange methods, and network. The need for those things is bigger as you're often alone in a company as a sales enabler.

“I have to say, one of the big pluses is also the networking that goes along during the coffee and lunch breaks because there are lots of great summits co-located on site (hosted by SEC’s sister communities under The Alliance umbrella).

"RevOps, and product marketing often work with sales enablement so chatting with these people is super interesting. In some companies, RevOps and enablement will be the same team, and I have, for example, worked very closely with just product marketing. The co-located summits are definitely a big bonus.

“In terms of the lectures and keynotes themselves, they’re a really cool way to stay up-to-date on trends.”

Advice for attending your first Sales Enablement Summit

Decided to attend and want to get the most out of your time at the event? Felicita shared her advice for you:

“I think it's always good to look at the speaker list and see who's talking about what, just to be a little bit in the loop on what topics are going to be covered in advance. For me, that was a really good way to get more out of the experience.

“Because we’re often so alone as enablers, it's good to arrive at the event and already know who to reach out to, so that you get the most out of the opportunity to make connections.

“Apart from that, it's good to just arrive and let yourself get surprised! There's no in-advance studying  or anything like that you need to worry about. My #1 tip for second-time round attendees? Push yourself out of your comfort zone andtry the speaking experience - I really enjoyed it!

“It's a really good way to connect, and from my second time attending, I also recognized some people and knew what to expect.”
